Keeping a regular fitness routine can be a challenge. It isn’t usually due to the fact that we just don’t want to go, its find the energy and the motivation to go. With all that we do in our daily life and often in high stress environments, it is tempting to just kick back and relax the first chance we get. While relaxation is absolutely essential to a healthy life style, maintaining regular exercise is as well. This is why group fitness classes, especially yoga can be such an important part of your workout routine.

Signing up for classes makes you accountable for your commitment. You also build relationships with instructors and clients, who also make you accountable for coming. When you have good relationships with the people in your fitness community, it motivation in it’s self. That community builds comfort and security. A good instructor keeps you motivated by grabbing your attention so you are not focused on how tired you might be. You my find some instructors can guide you into deeper exercise as well as add motivating comments to keep you going. Coming to classes regularly allows you to connect with other members, using each other as motivation too. A little healthy competition can be interactive and fun.

The class setting is super important. Having someone guide you through your workout. This is where many lack motivation as well. Its hard enough to do the work but then you have to come up with the exercises too, it can be too much. The best part of a group practice is coming to enjoy what a professional has created for you, while you can just focus on what your body is doing. The class setting usually removes distractions as well. Ever notice how many people just walk around the gym on their phone? It is easy to lose interest and energy when there is no one there to keep you in the zone.

Time line is big component too. Classes have a set schedule, with a set time. You have more options at choosing a time during the day that you find you have more energy. If you know that the class is only an hour for example, the expectation is that you only need to power through that one hour and it is likely that you will do well during that time. You will leave feeling accomplished, and will motivate you to keep coming. You will see your improvements over time and the repetition in going on a regular basis sets a standard within yourself. You know what you are capable of and can push yourself into ‘Go Mode’, enhancing self motivational skills.
