This week’s theme has been all about taking time for yourself. I have had the opportunity to hop around a bunch of the Oxygen studios this week and talk to clients about what they like to do to take time for themselves. Of course, coming to yoga was the one thing they all did to take time for themselves. Having once been a client myself, I couldn’t agree more with them. Yoga is one of the best ways to step back focus on yourself and relax.

The great thing about taking classes at Oxygen Yoga & Fitness is how there are a wide variety of classes. If you are in the mood to just relax, warm up and stretch out, a Deep Stretch Relaxation class is perfect for that. If you feel like you need to move slow but strong, we have the Flow or Yang, Yin. If you are in the mood to power up, move fast and burn off some steam you can come to a Fusion or Power Core class. Regardless of what class you take, each one forces you to be present in the moment. You have the opportunity to refocus your energy and mind using your breath. The instructors grab your attention, putting your mind into your bodies. When you are focused on your body and the movement happening, you are becoming present in the moment. No outside distractions to disrupt you, just pure positive energy on your mat.

When we take time to come to our mats, we build strength, flexibility and stamina. Yoga can help to releases hormones that improve your mood. It helps with managing anxiety, depression, and can reduce stress. You will also become more in tune with your body, which is so important. When you are moving your body in different ways it requires you turn on your brain and engage mentally. Then, there are the benefits of the far infrared like improves skin, reduces cellulite, and aids in building up your immune system. This could lead into boosted confidents and positive thinking. The list of benefits of both yoga and the far infrared could go. (More information on benefits is available our website, if you are looking for more information.)

My point is, yoga is probably the most beneficial way to take time for yourself. I truly believe that this is one thing all our client’s can agree on. There is always a class available to best suit your mood while improving your over all health. You are demonstrating to others you respect yourself, which is especially good if you have young people around you. They will see you build healthy habits and self care as well as compassion for others. Coming to your yoga classes is you taking time to feed your mind, body and soul.
