What could be better than taking some me time for both your physical and mental well-being?

As we enter the start of 2026, we know lots of you are taking count of what you experienced and achieved in 2025 and what you’re hoping to experience or achieve in the coming year. Whether you make new years resolutions, vision board, set goals, or just hope for the best, may we humbly suggest this new start as the perfect time to decide to try one new thing. Trying new things comes with many benefits, such as building flexible thinking and boosting brain health. Since we are a fitness company, many of our favorite things to try are also fitness-related. It’s important to focus not only on physical fitness, but also mental health though. The two are tied after all. Poor mental health can lead to physical health conditions, while on the flipside working out can support your mental health. With all that in mind, here are some physical and mental fitness pairings you can take your pick between for your something new this new year.

Hot 02 Mat Pilates & A Personal Reading Retreat

One great way to empower yourself as you’re on your fitness journey this new year is to remind yourself just how much progress you can make, just you and a mat or you and a book. Join us in Hot 02 Mat Pilates to experience a combination of classical pilates precision mixed with a contemporary approach reflecting modern biomechanics, all of which you’re able to do just you and a mat, strengthening yourself with your own body weight. Then, take the time to remind yourself that no matter where you are in life, you can always learn something new, experience what it would be like to live completely differently, or explore a new interest. All you need to do it is a good book. As explained by Psychology Today, reading fiction builds empathy and social cognition. So, build a personal reading retreat for yourself. Take a book to the park, the beach, or a restaurant, and read until you learn something you didn’t know about yourself or the world.

Hot FIIT-Lates & A Sound Bath

If you’re someone who loves to try everything, we think Hot FIIT-Lates & a sound bath is the perfect combo for you. As one of our newest classes, Hot FIIT-Lates will give you an experience that cannot be matched. It combines the core-strengthening principles of Pilates with the intensity and total-body workout of HIIT. And after leaving it all in the studio, working on core strength, flexibility, and overall fitness all in one class, why not immerse your mind as well? A sound bath is an immersive experience wherein deep sound vibrations are used to help you decompress, as shared by Cleveland Clinic.

Resist It & A Rage Room Trip

A lot of the time, when we think of mental health, we think of managing emotions and trying to feel the good ones, but sometimes it’s also important to let ourselves feel the hard things. As explained by Ohio State University, “when we ignore our feelings, it creates a boomerang effect where the emotions will just come back later.” In other words, pushing aside emotions isn’t really getting rid of, but just delaying them.

That’s why we think the perfect contrast to the physical resistance you’ll commit to in Resist It, is safely and healthily letting your emotions loose afterwards, in the form of a rage room. If you’re someone who tends to think they can power through both their feelings and their workouts, we think the intensity of our Resist It class which focuses on toning and sculpting through compound exercises followed by cardio bursts might appeal to you. But after you lock in, let yourself let go through a trip to the rage room.

Hot 20/20/20 & Journaling

If trying one new thing doesn’t feel like enough, Hot 20/20/20 is the perfect class to try. This class divides your workout into three sections, one focused on cardio-based training, one focused on strength training, and one focused on stretching, meaning that no matter what workout background you’re coming from, you’ll likely get the chance to try something new that might appeal to you. After sampling these new workout options, take the time to reflect on what parts of the workout you were drawn to, what parts you were resisting, and why that resistance might be there in a journaling sesh. Then, zoom that journaling session out of the workout focus and you might find some other things you’re drawn to and resisting in your life.

Hot Power Yoga & Vision Boarding

If Hot Power Yoga is the class that appeals to you when you’re thinking of trying something new, we’re guessing you’ve probably got a mission in your mind. It does have the word ‘power’ in the title, after all. And we hope the class will make you feel just that, focusing on igniting your inner fire and pushing past limitations as you hold postures and balances longer. To put all that effort to good use, you’re going to want to have a vision as well, which is why we suggest scrounging up some old magazines, printing out photos, or making a Pinterest board filled with things that inspire you and goals you’re working towards. We think the vision boarding and the hot power yoga will be mutually beneficial experiences!

Hot Box Fusion & A Mindful Walk

Boxing is a workout that uses your brain and body at high intensity. You’re improving strength, coordination, burning calories, and finding rhythm. It uses a lot of focus and teaches you to find your strength in the process! But after you accomplish all this in Hot Box Fusion, why not destress and find clarity with a mindful walk? Not just any old walk, a mindful walk refers to moving slowly, paying attention to how your body feels, and paying attention to all of your senses as you walk. Mindful walks can even reduce blood pressure and heart rate, as well as other mental health benefits.

No matter which mind & body pairing you choose to be your new experience, we hope to hear all about it soon! Check your class schedules for a studio near you to get to planning!
